Stay Away from Article Spinning and Link Schemes

I have recently decided to search for a link building service that will help me increase my search engine rankings. Being a member of the Warrior Forum, I began searching for the link building service providers. My research led me to this post, a link building service post which had over 1,500 replies and around 100,000 views. The huge number of replies and views left me with no doubt that I have reached the right place.

The service deal were as follows:

  • 36 Web 2.0 Properties (PR 4 – PR 9) forming a Linkwheel with 36 Spun Articles of 300+ Words
  • 36 Article Submissions(Guaranteed approval) with 36 Spun Articles of 300+ Words
  • 36 Blog Posts with 36 Spun Articles of 300+ Words – All unique IP’s
  • (OR)
  • 200 PR2+ Wiki links with 200 spun articles of 300 words(Highly Recommended)
  • 1 Custom Video (Uploaded to YouTube.com & used across the link wheel)
  • 1 Unique image to each of the Web 2.0 sites
  • RSS / Feed Submission to 100+ ping list
  • Up to 6 Keywords / 6 URLs (Same site)
  • Time frame – 5 Working days

I never had an experience with a link building service and had never read spun content, nevertheless I decided to move forward with buying the package. The purchase process was very fast.I specified the keywords that I wanted to target, and everthing was ready to go.

A few days later I received an excel sheet including the links to the web properties, blog posts and article directories that had my articles. The spun articles were obviously spammy with very low quality. I have contacted the service provider with the concern about the quality of the service, but I have received a confirmation that this absolutely fine for SEO purposes.

Two days later, I began checking my new rankings and I was surprised that the rankings of the keywords that I have included in the link building package have dropped (30-40 positions). I have done a little research and have discovered that the Google Penguin update no longer tolerates this quality of spun content. The first advice that I have received was to immediately remove all the links that I can remove.

I have contacted the company and requested the removal of the backlinks that they have added. It took them around two weeks to remove 99% of the articles, but I can now notice that my rankings are back.

My two cents, stay away from the link building services that promise the moon. You can outsoruce article writing, and submit your high quality articles to article directories or as guest posts to the different blogs worldwide.
